Tencel modal, 100% natural wood pulp fiber from Austria, is soft for skins, delicate and smooth with silky bright luster, but its price is more affordable than that of silk and it also washes more conveniently.
Tencel modal blended fabric is composed of 60% soft modal and 40% super absorbent Tencel. They are made from European beech and eucalyptus respectively, so it's a 100% green product. They are all first made from wood, then into wood pulp and fiber through advanced technologies, and finally woven into yarn. It has better moisture absorption and hygroscopicity than those of cotton.
It is understood that modal is a miracle coming from the plant world. The fabric made of it has both purer silk luster and softer waxy touch over pure cotton-made fabric. It not only remains new after long-time washing, but also has good moisture absorption and dehumidification. It can excrete the moisture of the human body in time and block the breeding ground of bacteria such as mites. Besides, the modal is more environmentally friendly: Its raw materials are derived from marginal woodlands that do not occupy the resources of cultivated lands. The process of planting trees will not be applied to any chemical pesticides, and the impact on the land will be minimized. The irrigation water reaches 1/10 to 1/20 of the water needed in ordinary cotton fields, but its yield is as 2.5 times as that of the latter. In addition, no pollutants will be produced during the entire fiber production process and the fiber itself can be degraded.
